Fundraising/Development Intern – Sex Workers Project

DUTIES

  • Conduct research to identify potential funding sources and opportunities for collaboration
  • Research individual and institutional donor prospects
  • Assist in digital fundraising campaigns, including email appeals and initiatives, to enhance donor engagement and drive online giving.
  • Support the cultivation of relationships with individual donors through personalized communication efforts aimed at deepening donor engagement and support, as well as reviewing and processing donor profiles.
  • Utilize resources in Donorperfect database management to track donations
  • Collaborate with Social Media Coordinator on fundraising posts and campaigns

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior experience or coursework in fundraising, nonprofit management, communications, or related fields is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in upholding ethical standards and confidentiality in handling donor information and organizational processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with donor management software is preferred (e.g., Donorperfect), but not required.
  • An interest in fundraising paired with a passion for crafting compelling narratives.
  • Spanish language fluency preferred but not required

KEY COMPETENCIES:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and work independently.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Aid in the ongoing cultivation of donor relationships
  • Conduct research to identify potential funding sources and opportunities for collaboration
  • Familiarity or willingness to learn email marketing tools, particularly Constant Contact
  • Commitment and interest in immigrant rights, sex workers rights, LGBTQ rights
